Sun Information:

• Skin cancer rates across Canada have increased by two thirds since 1990.
• No one is completely safe from the sun. Over time, exposure to UV rays from the sun can cause skin cancer.
• UV rays can pass through water, clouds, fog and haze. Sand, concrete and snow reflect and increase the suns burning rays.
• UV rays can pass through conventional fabrics in varying amounts.
• Lightweight conventional garments offer relatively low UV protection. (under15+)
• Exposure to the sun's UV radiation can lead to sunburn, skin damage, melanoma and skin cancer.
• We all enjoy the outdoors and today the risk of skin cancer is much greater than it was 20 years ago due to the ozone layer thinning, thus allowing more ultraviolet rays through.
• A regular cotton t-shirt only offers a protection factor between 5 & 10.
• The risk of skin cancer is higher for people who:

• Have light-coloured skin, eyes and hair
• Work, play or exercise in the sun for long periods of time
• Had several blistering sunburns as a child
• Have a family history of skin cancer

The Solution:

• COVER UP with smart fabrics that carry an ultraviolet protection factor report with a UPF rating of 50+ UPF =97.5% UV block. A fabric carrying a 50+ qualifies in the UPF excellent protection category.
• Wearing sunglasses from children to adults can help prevent damage to your eyes by blocking a large amount of ultraviolet rays in summer and winter months.
• Our garments are made with a lightweight man made fabric

Our product is an "intelligent" man-made fiber, which is an extremely lightweight and loose fitting, making it ideal for warm weather and active pastimes. It is resistant to wind, water and other elements such as mosquitoes; the easy care and its ability to be rolled up into incredibly small bundles makes it the perfect choice for hiking, sailing and traveling.
Other fabrics in the range include Lycra™, ideal for covering up in or out of the water without restricting movement, while still maintaining a 50+ UPF rating.

Protecting yourself and your family from UV Radiation doesn't mean you have to stay indoors and it doesn't mean you have to put up with bulky, uncomfortable clothes.

Imagine clothes made out of fabric that is warm in winter, cool in summer; quick drying and requires no ironing; resistant to water, wind, stains and bacteria; safe for you and your environment; long lasting and fashionable.
